            The Union of body, mind and breath for increased health, well-being and inner peace.


Yoga slows down the aging process by giving elasticity to the spine, firming the skin, increasing circulation, removing tension from the mind and body, strengthening the abdominal muscles, eliminating unneeded weight, improving the muscle tone, correcting poor posture, and calming the mind. 

  

A private yoga class is great for beginners or anyone who doesn't feel comfortable in a group setting. Private yoga instruction is individualized.  As a result, the instructor can help the client make and attain specific goals with therapeutic benefits.  In a private lesson you have the ability to focus on personal interests, concerns and goals. Since private yoga classes offer individualized instruction, the possibility of injury is decreased. Cynthia can modify the poses to best suit your ability or to accommodate injuries or disabilities.

Cynthia can also prepare a lesson plan for you to use at home.

Meditation has been practiced in many cultures for thousands of years for the numerous benefits it offers. Meditating can lower your blood pressure, slow your heart rate and ease anxiety. This practice can also help generate love and compassion, sharpen the mind, and deepen spirituality.

My Story

 I have been doing energy work for 29 years, practicing Yoga for the last 25 years and teaching for 10 years after having discovered Ashtanga Yoga Sri K. Pattabhi Jois style, I fell in love. Studying Reiki, Qi Gong, Energy Medicine, Polarity Therapy, 500 HR Royal Touch CMT, Thai Yoga Massage and many other healing modalities. Incorporating healing meditation in my yoga classes. 

 Recently, Cynthia took advanced training in Rishikesh, India at the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains for three and a half months.

Now she is available to help heal your Body, Mind and Spirit utilizing healing treatments such as; Deep Tissue, Sports Injury. Trigger point, Reflexology. Swedish, and Energy Healing Massage, Reiki, Pranayama Breathing, Pro-Eft, and private Yoga lessons. 

My mission is to teach everything I’ve learned to those who are in of need regaining their health, vitality, and relief from stress.

Benefits of Pranayama Breathwork

  

Pranayama breathing teaches you to change the depth, rate and pattern of breathing. Pranayama is a Sanskrit word which literally translates into “extension of the prana or breath”. 'Prana' means life-force and it is the life-force or vital energy that pervades the body. Prana is the link between mind and consciousness. As per yoga philosophy, longevity depends on your breathing rate. Lowering of breathing rate is likely to increase your life. For example, a tortoise takes four to five breaths in a minute and it lives up to 200 years or more.  

  

Better Breathing Improves Quality of Life 

As a person with sedentary lifestyle reaches middle age, lung tissues tend to grow less and less elastic and lung capacity decreases. 

Pranayama can help to reduce the effects of the following ailments: 

  • Loss of vitality.
  • Accumulation of uric acid in the blood stream which      often leads to frequent joint pains and discomfort. 
  • Backaches, headaches, rheumatism, stiffening muscles      and joints. 
  • Proper circulation of blood is impeded by a sluggish      diaphragm or hardening arteries.

It is recommended to start learning pranayama from a yoga teacher without any delay in order to experience the immense benefits of pranayama. Benefits of yoga breathing can be realized only by experience. Establish a daily routine of yoga breathing exercises. If you want to start on your own, first start with rhythmic deep breathing to get into the rhythm.

  • Pranayama practice provides freedom from negative and  harmful mental conditions like anger, depression, lasciviousness, greed for money, arrogance etc.
  • With pranayama fluctuations of mind are controlled and it prepares the mind for meditation. Our heart is the most industrious organ of our body. The heart beats 100,000 times a day. It is pumping blood day in and day out non-stop all your life. The health of your heart determines your life expectancy and quality of life in old age. More oxygen in the blood means more oxygen to muscles of the heart.

Benefits of Pranayama for Functioning of Body Organs

  • Better functioning of autonomic system improves the working of lungs, heart, diaphragm, abdomen, intestines, kidneys and pancreas. 
  • Digestive system improves and diseases pertaining to digestive organs are cured. 
  • General irritability due to lethargy/ fatigue vanishes.
  • By Pranayama practice all body organs gets more oxygen, toxins are removed from body, therefore onset of various diseases is prevented. Pranayama strengthens the immune system. 

  

Blood Circulation Improves

As a result of breathing, the freshly oxygenated blood (during inhalation) travels from lungs to the heart. The heart pumps it via arteries and blood vessels to every part of the body, where in turn it seeps into every tissue and cell. This improves the blood circulation and more oxygen/ prana or cosmic energy reaches all parts of your body.

Reiki

Rei which means "the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power" and Ki which is means 'life force energy.'

Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing. 

A session is usually 60 to 90 minutes long. A discussion will usually take place during an initial session with a Reiki Practitioner. They will describe the session to the client, give the client an opportunity to discuss any particular problems or issues they are experiencing and ask them what they are hoping to achieve from their session. For the actual session, the client will rest comfortably on a massage table on their back with their shoes removed. Unlike massage therapy, no articles of clothing are removed and a client is always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested. A Practitioner holds their hands slightly above your body. 

The session will then proceed with the Reiki Practitioner moving through specific standard Reiki hand positions beginning at the person’s head or feet. A recipient of Reiki might feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. The session should be very pleasant, relaxing and invigorating.

Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Many people use Reiki for wellness. Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but it may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings.

Many times a client, after experiencing Reiki treatments, will wish to learn Reiki to work with this energy themselves by taking a Reiki I course. This can be beneficial as they may then use this stress reduction and relaxation tool anytime they wish when cost would prohibit it otherwise.
